The mission of the Thorsby High School Counseling Program is through counseling services every student can learn in a safe environment and is capable of success. Students all have equitable access to a high-quality counseling program, regardless of sex, class, socioeconomic status as well as cultural, racial and special needs. Thorsby students will graduate from high school as productive citizens, prepared for post-secondary opportunities. The school counseling program is a collaborative process, involving school counselors, students, families, teachers, administrators and education stakeholders, who advocate for students. Our school counselors are leaders in the school, district, state and nation, advocating for a comprehensive program that promotes and enhances students’ academic, career and social/emotional outcomes.

The vision of the counseling department at Thorsby High School is that our graduates are self-directed learners and productive citizens that exemplify our school motto, “Be Kind, Work Hard and Make Good Choices.” Our students are successful adults who flourish in their careers; employed or pursuing a career in a pathway that matches their interests, values and abilities.
